UNOCCUPIED/VACANT STAGING SERVICES:
 We can provide you with a same day quote and a free preview if you choose to move forward with our home staging services. Our staging inventory includes furniture, lighting, area rugs, bedding, window treatments, decor, & artwork. 

We have a 4 - 5 room minimum with basic staging packages that range anywhere from $2,700 to $3,500 depending on the size of the home. This fee includes planning, organizing, packing, transportation, installation and pick-up, and the first month of furniture & decor rental. After the first month, just the rental fee is due at the beginning of each month. We do have a two month rental minimum, unless the property goes under contract in the first month - then the minimum is waved. 

MODEL HOMES
We offer special multi-month packages for model homes.

Hi! We're Laura Mahon & Dana Robinson, former marketing professionals turned house flippers and home stagers - both of us Connecticut natives. After many years of purchasing, renovating, and selling our own investment properties, we came to appreciate the value of professional home staging. We launched Laura Mahon Design & Home Staging in 2018 and have been professionally staging homes big and small across Connecticut and Southwestern Massachusetts for the past 8 years.

This is the den in our latest Flip House, the "Pleasant Valley Project". From the beginning the house had a warm, homey feeling. It had been in the same family for 50 years. I wanted the next owner to feel welcome and enveloped in its comfort. I found this woodland print wallpaper and it went from there.  The room already had gorgeous wood floors and beamed ceilings. I painted the paneling a warm green, and the ceiling a charcoal gray. It didn't need much else. We carried the green into the kitchen with large format subway tiles, and replaced the old Corian countertop with a warm walnut butcher block. Then we switched out the old cabinet hardward and added these Mission-style oil rubbed bronze beauties. This room was the inspiration for the rest of the home - and if in the future the new owner would like to switch it up - the wallpaper is Peel and Stick - it's comes right off!

It's officially Spring and if you live in New England like I do - it's a big deal. Winters can be grueling and seemingly never ending. So I'm celebrating! Cue the Spring Green and Robins Egg Blue. Get yourself some daffodils and make your bed with floral sheets. I've found a few items on Amazon to kick start my Spring mindset. It's Spring Real Estate Season here in Connecticut and Home Staging is in full swing. For us that means adding to our Furniture and Decor inventory - and Area Rugs are at the top of the list! I especially love the LOLOI series designed by Julia Marcum at Chris Love Julia. I've just purchased the three above: they're lightweight, affordable, and have that vintage vibe. Plus they add tons of drama to any room. Not to mention the colors are gorgeous.  I stumbled upon the "inspiration" photo above of this dark and moody Powder Room on Instagram the other day. As it happens, I have a client who is about to embark on a powder room makeover. I pitched the black and gold design, which features a very cool black crocodile wallpaper, and she was hooked - as long as we could keep it within budget. Sooooo...I found a similar wallpaper for 83 cents a sq.ft., a faux marble countertop sink, and these "Raindrop" wall sconces that I love and had been coveting for quite a while now. I'm a big fan of creating an expensive look with affordable fixtures, and Amazon is a great resource for just that!

After all the work that goes into preparing a home for market, including painting, cleaning, decluttering and staging, professional MLS photos are a must. All home buyers do their shopping online these days, 
and it's the images of your home that will decide if they want to schedule a showing. 

Our real estate photography services include 30 photos of the interior and exterior of your home. We prefer to shoot in natural light as opposed to using flash photography. We think there's nothing more appealing than light streaming through a window and will wait for a sunny day to shoot your home. We are also not ones to use 
wide-angle photography. Sure, a cavernous looking living room is eye catching, but when buyers walk through your door, only to discover the room is much smaller, you opportunity to impress is gone. 

MLS PHOTOGRAPHY: $300.00 per session for 30 photos, interior and exterior, edited and light corrected, and delivered within 24 hours. $200.00 per session if combined with any of our Staging or Decorating services.
